We recently had the opportunity to show some new designs in an Art Gallery in our city. It was special evening with live music and local talent all around. Now, what is a leather maker showing at an Art Gallery? Good question!
Lately, Emily has been refining her tooling skills to help add a little beauty to these leather products we create. She collaborated with a local artist (Corrie Dyer of @acornvalleyart) to create some Spring designs for the Gallery.
Along with Corrie’s designs, Emily tooled her own ideas. These ideas came from inspiration found while making bouquets of wildflowers on walks.
In case you are wondering what tooling is, it is the process of tracing, carving and stamping a design into leather. So, let’s just say that lots of love goes into each piece.
