One of the biggest struggles I've had with leather tooling and making it hangable "art" is ''how will it actually be displayed?'' It definitely shouldn't be behind glass in a frame. That completely defeats the purpse of the feel, the smell, the patina. So, for an 'in-the-box' thinker, such as myself, it was a struggle for a long time. One day, when I found some pieces of tooled leather art that had been sitting in a cabinet for a few years, I took them out and put them on a shelf until I could actually figure out a frame for them. and voila! They were being seen and enjoyed without a frame. Maybe there wasn't a barrier, like I thought.
As I started enjoying seeing my leather pieces in our home, I began thinking outside of the box... (or the frame) and decided to find some used wooden plaque boxes that I could sand down and glue leather tooled art to. Boom, it worked. The only issue with this process is that I am limited as to what Goodwill has in stock.

This next idea reminds me just one of the reasons why I am grateful for my dear sweet business partner/husband. He suggested that I cut down some small pieces of leather to serve as hardware to hang art.
So, here I finally am, with a simple solution and and a desire to put beautiful florals and quotes on leather.
